DESCRIPTION:This course explores how oral health\, inflammation\, and dementia are connected. Participants will learn how oral pathogens\,\nperiodontal disease\, bleeding gums\, and chronic inflammation may affect whole-body health and brain health. The course also\ncovers dementia risk factors\, key biological changes in the brain\, and practical prevention strategies dentists and dental hygienists\ncan use to support healthier patients. COURSE OVERVIEW: PREVENTION • PATIENT CENTERED CARE • OPTIMAL HEALTH\nExamine the biological links between periodontal inflammation and Alzheimer’s disease. Recognize oral and systemic risk factors\nassociated with cognitive decline. Identify early oral indicators that may signal increased dementia risk.
